Terms of Service
Serenza ("Serenza", "we", "us") provides business software for interior design firms: project management, billing, invoicing, proposals, and a client portal, available at serenza.io and through our mobile apps (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.
Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the people you invite to your workspace.
- You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.
Subscriptions, trials, and billing
- Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout and on our pricing page.
- New subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial. A payment method is collected up front and the first charge occurs automatically when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. We send a reminder email before the trial ends.
- You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not charge again after you cancel. We don't offer prorated refunds for partial months, but if you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we'll make it right.
- Plan limits (team members and features) are described on the pricing page and enforced in the product. Projects are unlimited on every plan.
Your content and your clients
- Everything you put into Serenza (projects, contacts, invoices, documents, photos) belongs to you or your firm, not to us. We host and process it solely to provide the Service.
- You can export a full copy of your data anytime from Settings, and you can delete your account whenever you like.
- The client portal lets you share project information with your clients and collect approvals and signatures. You are responsible for having the right to share the content you share, and for the accuracy of documents you send for signature.
- Electronic signatures collected through the portal record the signer's drawn signature, typed name, a timestamp, and a hashed network identifier. You are responsible for determining whether electronic signatures are appropriate for your documents and jurisdiction.
Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, send spam, upload malicious code, probe or disrupt our infrastructure, or resell access. We may suspend accounts that put the Service or other customers at risk.
Service and support
- We work hard to keep the Service fast and available, but it is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or data.
- Serenza is a tool, not a professional adviser: nothing in the Service is legal, tax, or accounting advice.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms; if a change is material we'll notify you by email or in the product before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change, that's acceptance. You may stop using the Service at any time; we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination you retain the right to export your data for 30 days.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Arizona.
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do with it. The short version: we collect what's needed to run the Service, we don't sell data, and your business data belongs to you.
What we collect
- Account information: your name, email, firm name, and password (stored as a secure hash).
- Billing information: handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers. We store only your Stripe customer reference, plan, and subscription status.
- Your business data: the projects, contacts, invoices, documents, hours, expenses, and photos you put into your workspace. This may include personal information about your clients; you are the controller of that data and we process it on your behalf.
- Signature records: when a client signs through the portal we record the drawn signature, typed name, timestamp, and a one-way hashed network identifier, and store them with the signed document for both parties' records.
- Technical basics: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) used for security and debugging.
What we do with it
- Provide, secure, and improve the Service.
- Send transactional email: sign-in links, welcome messages, approval requests, billing receipts, and trial reminders. We don't send marketing email without your consent.
- We never sell your data or your clients' data, and we never use your business data to train AI models. When you use optional scanning features (like receipt auto-fill), the file you submit is processed by our AI provider to extract the data you asked for and is not used for training.
Who touches the data
We use a small set of processors to run the Service: Supabase (database and authentication), Netlify (hosting and serverless functions), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Anthropic (optional document scanning), and Apple/Google push services (mobile notifications). Each receives only what it needs to do its job. Nightly encrypted backups are stored with a second provider.
Your choices
- Export your data anytime from Settings.
- Delete your account and data by contacting us or from Settings; backups roll off within 30 days.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@serenza.io.
- Client portal visitors: the firm that invited you controls your project data. Direct requests about it to your design firm; we'll help them fulfill it.
Security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit, access is scoped per firm at the database layer, and each workspace's data is isolated from every other. We retain your data while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion so you can change your mind; then it's gone from live systems and rolls off backups.
Browser extension
The Clip to Serenza browser extension is optional and is covered by this policy. It reads a web page only at the moment you ask it to, by clicking its toolbar button or using its right-click menu. There is no background collection: it does not run on pages you have not acted on, does not read your browsing history, bookmarks, or other tabs, and does not track you across sites.
When you clip, the extension sends the product details it found on that page (name, brand, price, SKU, the options you selected, the page address, and the address of the product image) to your own studio workspace, which then saves them as a project item. The image is fetched and resized by Serenza so the extension never needs permission to reach vendor websites on its own. Nothing is sent to any third party, and no clip data is used for advertising or sold.
Connecting a browser stores a single access code on that browser, which authorizes adding items to your projects and nothing else. It cannot read your payments, clients, or documents. You can see every connected browser and disconnect any of them at any time from Settings, and disconnecting takes effect immediately.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their data.
Contact
Questions about these terms or this policy: hello@serenza.io.
Support
Email hello@serenza.io and a person answers. Include your studio name and, if something went wrong, what you were doing when it did. We answer on weekdays, usually the same day.
The mobile app
The Serenza iPhone app is the mobile half of your studio, not a separate product. It opens a workspace that already has an active subscription, so set your studio up on the web first and then sign in on your phone with the same email. Anything you change in one place shows up in the other.
Plans and billing are handled on the web rather than in the app. Sign in from any browser to start, change or cancel a subscription.
The app asks for camera and photo access the first time you attach a photograph to a piece or a receipt. Declining is fine; the rest of the app works normally, and you can change your mind later in iOS Settings.
Common questions
- A client cannot get into their portal. Open the project, check the client's access code under the portal link, and send them the link again. Codes are per project, so a client working on two projects has two.
- I signed in on my phone and the workspace is locked. That screen means the subscription is not active. Check it on the web; the app unlocks itself once it is.
- My data looks out of date. Pull to refresh, or close and reopen the app. Serenza keeps a local copy so it survives a dropped signal, and it reconciles when the connection comes back.
- I want my data out. Settings has an export. It is yours, and you do not need to ask us for it.
- I want my account deleted. Email us, or use Settings. Live data goes immediately and backups roll off within 30 days.
